Dalia Dippolito has been in a total of three trials. To break down the entire incident we will discuss this article in a few stages. During our research, we were neutral and tried to understand both sides of the story before judging the suspect or the victim.
Backstory and Attempts
The story started when Dalia married Michael Dippolito whom we will refer to as Mike from now on for the sake of simplicity. Mike and Dalia got married and started living together in Florida. During their marriage, Dalia got in touch with her ex-boyfriend Mohammed Shihadeh, we will refer to him as Mohammed from now on.

Things got so bad within 2 months of the marriage that Dalia tried to kill her husband many times. Once by trying to mix Anti- Freeze in his tea. Even though Mohammed was the accomplice he was the whistleblower and tipped off the police department about the intentions of Dalia.

Mohammed did this because he realized that Dalia was not joking and could kill off her husband, out of good conscience he told the cops everything which leads to multiple sting operations by the Boyton Police Department.
Sting Operation
The first sting operation happened in 2009 when an undercover police officer acted as a hitman and offered to kill her husband for $ 7000. The operation happened based on the tip of Mohammed, and the officer asked multiple times to confirm her intentions.
The second sting operation happened later in the same year when the police officers and detective gave Dalia fake news that her husband was killed in a shoot-off in an event planned by Dalia. The fake reaction of the woman was recorded and uploaded by the Police Department on YouTube. It was very clear that her reactions were not real.

It all happened when the Police Department told Mike to convince Dalia to go to the gym. When she reached the gym, the police department approached Dalia and told her that Mike was killed. They took her to the police station and the detective confronted her about her lie after which she was arrested.
Police Arrest & Court Hearing
The first trial was conducted on 17 June 2011, when she was accused and convicted for solicitation to commit first-degree murder. Judge Glenn Kelley who judged Dalia Dippolito’s case stated that he found her intentions completely evil and sentenced her for 20 years.
Dalia Dippolito on the stand for the first time in 2009
In the first trial, Dalia tried to show that she was just acting to get a part in a television show with her husband Mike. She told the jury that Mike was in on it too but it was found later that just after the first sting operation, Dalia called Mike to tell him that she was framed and was told to say all the lines shown on the clip. A valid point was made by the state attorneys that why would she contact him again like that if Mike was a part of the entire charade.
Just after her first trial, Brian Claypool started representing Dalia and made the case that the Boynton Beach Police Department framed Dalia Dippolito for their publicity and PR, from which he built the second trial. The second trial happened in 2016 when an appeal court in 2014 decided that her first trial was improper.

During the second trial, Brian told the jury that the Police Department for the sake of their television show “Cops” framed Dalia to gain TRP. The police department denied the claims, saying they had faith in the state attorneys and that they were successful with the operation leading to the safety of the life of Mike.
The second trial was disbanded due to some technicalities. And in 2017, her third trial was conducted. Within 90 minutes of her third trial, Dalia was found guilty of solicitation of first-degree murder and sentenced to 16 years. Her defense tried to appeal to the Supreme Court but their plea was discarded.
