Chandra gained the attention of the audience after she posted a picture of her with her boyfriend Arun Sudarsan, which was once published in The Times of India newspaper in the year 2016 when the IAS exams result was about to be out.

On June 29, 2021, she shared it on her Twitter account and described that it was when she was roaming with her then-boyfriend in rain to stress out and now they both are happily married and she took this photo as a challenge and got selected for IAS at very next year.

After clearing IAS she became the wife of Arun Sudarsan, who is an Economist & Policy Researcher at Civic Data Lab. Former YP at NITI Aayog. The couple first met during their studies at IIT Madras, both were in the same college and fell in love.

Her husband, Arun once revealed that due to COVID-19 and their busy schedule they are not able to celebrate their Wedding Anniversary together. The duo does not have any kids as of now. They celebrate their anniversary on May 14th.

After completing her education in Humanities and Social Sciences, Chandni cleared Civil Services Examination in the year 2016 and did her training at LABSNAA (Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration).
